Crowley is truly a “bedroom community” for Mammoth Lakes. Head south on U.S. 395 from Mammoth Lakes and you will arrive in Crowley Lake in about 15 minutes. And in those 15 minutes, you will drive past stunning Mt. Morrison, Mammoth Yosemite Airport, McGee Creek and Crowley Lake with mountain vistas behind it. Home to many locals for several reasons included less snow accumulation, generally warmer climate, larger lots, and affordable housing options.
Depending on where you are in this small community, you will enjoy mountain and lake views, plus the area is studded with aspens for a true mountain feel. Some neighborhoods have creeks and streams running right through the backyards, and when you add that to amazing mountain vistas and sunrises over the lake, it’s hard to beat.
Crowley Lake is the focal point with 45 miles of shoreline, Crowley Lake offers a marina, RV sites, boat rentals and a café. Rent a kayak and explore the remarkable 20-foot sand columns, formed 760,000 years ago, on the north-east shore. If not on the lake, there are plenty of activity options year-round.
